Tee Moschberger, LPC

Children's Mental Health Therapist

Hi everyone! My name is Tee and I am a Florida born and raised Disney-lover who somehow found her adult life in the Northeast. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful babies, all of whom love Disney for our own special reasons. My husband is the Disney-history buff who claims he could navigate any part of the parks with his eyes closed and prides himself on never needing directions. My son is a thrill-enthusiast and will never say no to a roller coaster or scary attraction. My daughter is a Disney princess through and through and will absolutely belt out the song on It's A Small World with no shame. As for me, I'm the typical type-A Disney Mom. I make the plans, organize the outfits, pack the bags, make the PowerPoint presentation, and document every step of the journey.

Growing up in Florida, I grew up with annual passes (which were only $190 a year, my Dad likes to remind me!) so my childhood is absolutely littered with wonderful Disney memories...and a few that scarred me for life, as I like to remind my family frequently - I'm lookin' at you Alien Encounter! Over the more recent years as I have been talking with other moms and families I work with, I repeatedly heard parents saying they didn't think they could do what we do with our trips. Their children had various challenges, whether it be mental health related or behavioral, that raised a fear in them about going to a place like Disney World.

Over time I had the opportunity to support several families as they planned trips of their own, offering my support as a therapist to prepare a child for their vacation in whatever way I could. We practiced specific coping skills for the parks, created safety plans and special packing lists for coping items, and I supported parents in learning to manage their expectations and respond to their child's needs in a supportive way that would make the trip more successful. The results? It worked! These families reported back that the preparation and support was a major factor in the success of their trip and ultimately in their family having these core memories that they can forever look back on.

And so, Mindful Mouseketeers was born! I hope that this is a space for learning, support, and a little magic!

Thank you for joining along,

Tee
